The business school was renamed Olin Business School in 1988 in the honour of renowned philanthropist and businessman John. M. Olin. Olin Business School

Washington University in St. Louis has maintained a business school since 1917 and awarded its first undergraduate business degree in 1919. In 1988, the business school was named ‘’Olin Business School’ in the honour of John M. Olin. The Chairman of Olin Corporation, a major benefactor of Washington University. Located in the heart of the Midwest, Olin is one of the country’s leading research-oriented business schools. The school added an MBA program in 1950, a doctoral program in 1958, and an executive MBA in 1983. In 2002 Olin began its international collaborations with Fudan University to offer an executive MBA program in China. In recent years the business school has expanded its horizons with executive oriented programs in India, South Korea, Singapore, Israel, Germany, and Spain.

Olin Business School has received triple accreditation status by earning the accolade from EQUIS, the final organization of the “big three” accreditation bodies in business education.With this honor, Olin joins an elite group of business schools.
