From classrooms to catalysts – Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spark!

by Admin | IITBOMBAY-WU

This week, our Batch 10 of the Executive MBA class of IIT Bombay – Washington University in St. Louis had an inspiring opportunity to step beyond the classroom and into the vibrant ecosystem of innovation at SINE (Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship).

While our core program is centred around business fundamentals and leadership, experiences like this serve as a powerful reminder of why many of us joined this journey — to explore new ideas, challenge the status quo, and possibly, to build something of our own.

The visit gave us a detailed look into how SINE supports early-stage start-ups — from providing cutting-edge infrastructure, lab facilities, and a co-working space, to offering seed funding, strategic mentoring, and access to industry experts.

We also had the chance to interact with some start-ups currently incubated at SINE — real people solving real problems with focus, hustle, and a bold vision for the future. Their stories were more than inspiring; they were energizing. For many of us, it stirred a powerful thought:

"One day, this could be me. Building something meaningful. Hustling with a purpose. Taking off from this very place"

Expect some exciting start-up journeys to emerge from our Batch 10 — the spark has been lit, and the entrepreneurial drive is very much alive.

Special thanks to Shaji Varghese and Aparna Anand for an engaging session, the insightful walk-through of the facility, and for patiently addressing our many questions. Your passion for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship truly shines through.

It’s one thing to study innovation in the classroom, but it’s another to walk the corridors where it’s actually happening. Here’s to learning, dreaming, and maybe someday… building.
